Kronos Hotels is now just but only one of a myriad of hotel chains that populate the galaxy.
It can trace its roots back to 2022 when the first hotel in space was officially opened the Orion Span's Luxury Aurora Station.
Aurora Station was built in Houston and initially hosted a 12-day stay in space at the Aurora Station which started at $9.5 million, considerably less than the $20-$40 million space tourists paid for trips to the International Space Station from 2001 to 2009.
At its opening the Aurora accommodated four paying guests along with two crew members. Aurora Station began at just 43.5 feet long and 14.1 feet wide, which was roughly the size of a large private jet's cabin.
Visitors to Aurora Station had to participate in a 3-month training regimen to prepare themselves for the journey and stay in orbit. From online courses to in-person training in Houston, travelers had to be prepared through Orion Span Astronaut Certification.
The Aurora was a critical and financial success which lead to further space commercial development.
